Mater Research Institute: Strong Families Visual Identity

Mater Research Institute’s Indigenous Health team engaged Gilimbaa to create a brand-new visual identity for its ‘Strong Families’ project that will be implemented within a number of partnered Aboriginal community-controlled health services and hospital and health services around Queensland.

Strong Families offers a model for Indigenous-led research, highlighting the vital role of Indigenous leadership and knowledge in shaping health research and outcomes.

At the centre of the logo is the baby that is at the focus of care of the parents. The multi-coloured dots represent both wattle flowers and the variety of community groups across Queensland. The lines connecting each of the circular elements represent the idea of connection and community. The curved lines also represent the important connection to Country. The combined elements of the logo represent the idea of growing a family tree. An organic shape is added to contain the elements of the logo.
