Department of Education (Qld): The National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence Campaign

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) is held on the third Friday in August every year. It is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative for schools, encouraging whole-school communities to work together to implement evidence-informed positive and proactive solutions to prevent and address bullying.

The NDA theme for 2023 is ‘Growing Connections’, which supports research findings that strong school community connections and social skills are protective factors in the prevention of bullying and help enable positive, help-seeking behaviours in students.

Gilimbaa was engaged to create a compelling campaign including a video series based on the theme for internal and external use to promote the NDA. After developing a campaign look and feel, scriptwriting, and storyboarding, the Gilimbaa team travelled to primary and secondary schools in Canberra and Brisbane to record teachers’ and students’ thoughts on the importance of connections to help prevent bullying, before completing all post-production on the video series, working in conjunction with our trusted partners, PixelFrame. We also created a range of print and digital assets to accompany the video series.
