Westpac Group: Reconciliation Action Plan Design and Layout

Founded in 1817, Westpac is Australia’s first bank and oldest company, and one of the four largest banking organisations in Australia, serving over 13.9 million customers. Gilimbaa was delighted to be invited by Westpac Group to design and lay out its Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for the 2022 to 2025 period using the Westpac ‘Weave’ artwork designed by artist Lucy Simpson of Gaawaa Miyay in 2014.

Our graphic design team developed an initial cover and internal spread concept to Westpac for feedback and approval before designing the full document. The RAP outlines Westpac Group’s vision for reconciliation of an Australia “where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have equitable economic participation and financial wellbeing”, which it aims to achieve by “listening to, learning from, partnering with, and elevating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.”
