Moving into our tenth year and with an expanding client base, Gilimbaa is looking for a skilled, experienced Graphic Designer/Artist to join the team, make their mark and be part of our next chapter.

Working closely with our Art Director, our team and our clients, the Graphic Designer/Artist will play a role in delivering some of our most innovative and creative campaigns.


The Role

The key areas of responsibility for the Graphic Designer/Artist include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing creative designs with culturally unique concepts that align to project briefs;
  • Preparing layouts and mock-ups of designs using illustration, text, photography, colour and computer-generated imagery, either by hand or using computer software;
  • Working closely with the Art Director to ensure that all project goals are met;
  • Presenting creative designs for client approval and feedback; and
  • Preparing designs for digital or print publication.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes

To be the perfect fit for the role you will have:

  • Minimum three to four years industry experience;
  • A relevant tertiary degree or qualification;
  • The ability to design for both digital and print environments;
  • An understanding of industry theory, typography, colour theory, and design principles
  • Well-developed expertise in all Adobe software programs and advanced computer skills;
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A strong ability to prioritise, work under pressure and manage deadlines;
  • The ability to undertake all design production stages;
  • The ability to translate rough concepts and ideas into viable designs;
  • A passion for and a strong understanding of the arts/entertainment industry; and
  • A preparedness to work extra hours to meet deadlines if required.

Indigenous creative design experience is highly advantageous.
