National Centre for Indigenous Excellence

Branding: Visual Identity &
Client: NCIE
Industry: Community/non-profit

The National Centre for Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) provides programs and facilities in sport, art, education and culture to help young Indigenous people achieve their dreams. The NCIE was built on the site of the old Redfern Public School in Sydney as an initiative of the Indigenous Land Council and opened its doors in November 2009.

The NCIE brand had to convey the values of the organisation: excellence, inclusiveness, growth and integrity. It also needed to speak to a wide audience, from corporate Australia to the Centre’s young Indigenous participants, and depict the infinite possibilities for growth and achievement for everyone involved in the Centre's programs and operations.

Carbon Media engaged Gilimbaa’s Indigenous branding expertise to create a culturally appropriate visual identity for this landmark project.
