Gilimbaa hosted and curated ‘Doomadgee – An Exhibition’, featuring photographer Hamish Cairns’ work in the community of Doomadgee.
Opening night featured performances by acclaimed international didgeridoo player William Barton and his mother Aunty Delmae, as well as dances by some of the kids of Doomadgee.
This marked the first part of a project Hamish initiated to teach the children of Doomadgee basic photography skills, giving them an opportunity to tell their stories through the lens of a camera.
