Qantas A380 in LA
27.10.08
Gilimbaa's Creative Director David Williams had a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles in late October to perform the didgeridoo as part of Qantas's celebrations of the inaugural flight of their new Airbus A380.
In true Tinseltown style, the new A380 received a star-studded welcome as John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John teamed up to give the new super jumbo a Hollywood red carpet welcome as it was towed towards awaiting media and VIPs.
The media and Hollywood celebrities took part in a promotional flight up to San Francisco and back. The weather proved wonderful as the plane made a low-flying manoeuvre over San Francisco Bay, displaying the trademark Qantas kangaroo on its tail.
Qantas has always been supportive of indigenous representation at their events, and it is always a pleasure to be a part of these events and to share Aboriginal culture with an international audience.
